Terms of Service & Repair Authorization

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern automotive diagnostic and repair services provided by EZ Autos Repair ("the Shop," "we," "us"), located at 473 Main St, Belleville, NJ 07109, phone (973) 844-9090, email info@ezautosrepair.com. By scheduling an appointment, delivering a vehicle to the Shop, or signing a repair authorization (including electronically), you ("the Customer," "you") agree to these Terms.
1. AUTHORIZATION TO INSPECT, DIAGNOSE, AND TEST-DRIVE You authorize the Shop and its employees to inspect and diagnose your vehicle and to operate it on streets and highways, or elsewhere, as reasonably necessary for testing, diagnosis, and quality-control purposes. Any diagnostic or inspection fee will be disclosed to you before that work begins.
2. WRITTEN ESTIMATE AND AUTHORIZATION TO PERFORM WORK No repair work beyond authorized diagnosis will be performed until you have authorized the specific work and an estimated price. Your repair authorization lists the work authorized and the estimated charges, including parts and labor. We will not perform work that exceeds the authorized estimate, or any stated "not-to-exceed" amount, without first obtaining your further authorization. Estimates are based on a preliminary inspection; concealed or additional conditions may not be apparent until work begins (see Section 3).
3. ADDITIONAL OR UNFORESEEN WORK If we find that additional parts or labor are necessary, we will contact you for authorization before performing that additional work. You may give additional authorization in person, electronically, or by telephone, and we will record the date, time, the amount authorized, and the name of the person who authorized it.
4. REPLACED PARTS You have the right to inspect replaced parts and, on request made before the work is performed, to have replaced parts returned to you, except parts that must be returned to a manufacturer or supplier under a warranty, exchange, or core-charge arrangement. Tell us in advance if you want your replaced parts.
5. ESTIMATES, PRICES, AND PAYMENT Payment in full is due upon completion of the work and before the vehicle is released, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Bridgestone, and check. Returned checks may be subject to a reasonable fee to the extent permitted by law. Posted shop-supply or environmental-disposal charges, where applicable, will be reflected on your invoice.
6. APPOINTMENTS, DROP-OFF, AND PICK-UP Appointment requests are confirmed by the Shop; an appointment is not guaranteed until confirmed. Please pick up your vehicle promptly after we notify you that the work is complete. Our hours are Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM, and we are closed Sunday.
7. STORAGE AND UNCLAIMED VEHICLES Vehicles not picked up within a reasonable time after we notify you that work is complete may be subject to reasonable storage charges. Vehicles left unclaimed for an extended period after completion and notice may be treated as abandoned and disposed of as permitted by New Jersey law.
8. GARAGE KEEPER'S / MECHANIC'S LIEN To the extent permitted by New Jersey law, the Shop retains a lien on the vehicle for the value of labor, materials, parts, and related charges furnished, until those charges are paid in full.
9. LIMITED WARRANTY Unless a different written warranty is provided on your invoice, the Shop warrants its parts and labor for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, from the date of the completed repair. This limited warranty covers defects in the parts we supplied and in our workmanship for the specific repair performed. It does not cover customer-supplied parts; normal wear and maintenance items; damage from misuse, neglect, accident, or continued operation after a fault is known; or conditions unrelated to the authorized repair. Warranty service must be performed by the Shop. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS IN PLACE OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
10. CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED PARTS If you ask us to install parts you supply, we cannot warrant those parts or the labor associated with them, and we are not responsible for failures caused by customer-supplied parts. We may decline to install customer-supplied parts.
11. PERSONAL PROPERTY AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY Please remove valuables and personal property from your vehicle. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Shop is not responsible for loss of or damage to articles left in the vehicle, or for loss or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from a repair will not exceed the amount you paid for that repair.
12. ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS AND SIGNATURES You agree that electronic acceptance, electronic authorizations, and electronic signatures captured by the Shop are valid and enforceable to the same extent as a handwritten signature under the federal ESIGN Act and the New Jersey Uniform Electronic Transactions Act, and that we may communicate with you about your service electronically, by phone, or by text.
13. PRIVACY Information you provide is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available on this website.
14. GOVERNING LAW AND CONSUMER RIGHTS These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. Automotive repair services in New Jersey are also subject to the New Jersey Automotive Repair regulations (N.J.A.C. 13:45A-26C) and other applicable consumer-protection law, which give you certain rights regarding estimates, authorization, and replaced parts as described above.
15. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS We may update these Terms from time to time. Each update is published as a new, dated version. The version in effect at the time you authorize work is the version that applies to that work; prior versions are retained for our records.
